I can assure you, we are not shipping in May. Several systems are indeed getting iterated upon. Content is getting implemented very rapidly; but due to the size of the world, it is taking longer than expected. Systems like diplomacy are NOT mandatory. It is in place to add flavor to questing and adventuring. It helps you gather information, unlock certain content, and unlock some special item rewards that are parley-centric. Much like crafting; some people will do it, and others won't.
